If you haven’t noticed, I’ve got a pretty intense writing schedule. \u00a0The Holver Alley Crew<\/strong><\/em> just came out, and\u00a0The Imposters of Aventil<\/strong><\/em> is out in the fall (Pre-order now!<\/a>), and\u00a0Lady Henterman’s Wardrobe\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>next year, and… you get the picture. \u00a0I don’t have a too much wiggle room in there.<\/p>\n

But that doesn’t mean I don’t have days where I’m all, “Yeah…. writing. \u00a0Need to … words… or something.”<\/p>\n

I definitely have days where I I whiff it. \u00a0ESPECIALLY right now, when a book has just come out, and all my brain power is used by “BOOK! \u00a0OUT! \u00a0ARE PEOPLE BUYING IT? \u00a0ARE THEY LIKING IT? WHAT IS HAPPENING?”<\/p>\n

This is my fifth book, and it’s still pretty much like the first one. \u00a0I’ve curbed some of the less-healthy behaviors (refreshing Amazon ranking constantly), but it still is occupying a heck of a lot of brain space. \u00a0My head is a spinning\u00a0rainbow wheel.<\/p>\n

Procrastination is part of how things go, it’s a natural part of the process. \u00a0And as much as I try to make progress on a daily basis, I have bad days. \u00a0I have days where I can’t get my head into my primary project (current primary project: drafting\u00a0A Parliament of Bodies<\/strong><\/em>), and that’s why you have secondary projects. \u00a0(Though now some of those are in my agent’s hands, and thus I’m on NEW secondary projects– one that’s been a back-burner tertiary project for a while.)<\/p>\n

But right now, I’m in that happy-distracted place about the release of The Holver Alley Crew<\/strong><\/em>. \u00a0Have you picked it up yet? \u00a0Then GET ON IT. \u00a0Meanwhile, I’m going to get on the writing. \u00a0Soon. \u00a0Any minute now.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
